So who are we and why did we develop this website…
Who are we and why are we providing this service?
DiamondScore was initially developed for the exclusive use of the customers of Quality Diamonds. The idea was to allow customers with little knowledge of diamonds, to quickly and visually see the good and not so good aspects of a diamond, without necessarily understanding what they actually mean. This knowledge then allowed customers to make an informed decision about the quality of diamond they could potentially purchase.
It’s been such an overwhelming success that we’ve developed this website to allow the comparison of other diamonds from anywhere in the world. This will ultimately put the purchasing power back in YOUR hands, so you can purchase with full knowledge and complete confidence that the diamond you may want to purchase or sell, is the quality you think (or have been told) it is.
We are completely dedicated to ensuring all buyers of diamonds are fully informed when they make a decision to buy or sell and aim to continue to develop this website to the benefit of consumers worldwide.
Why we feature specific independent laboratories…
On this website and at Quality Diamonds, we feature the following independent laboratories. GIA, HRD, AGS, IGI, EGL USA and EGL International laboratories.
We have no affiliation with any of these laboratories. However, each has been chosen due to them being, well, independent which we feel is an absolute given. Also, they are the largest and most respected laboratories in the world.
Now it is true that labs grade diamonds differently, some more strictly (like GIA) and some more leniently (like EGL International). However, they remain the biggest and most popular in the world and we therefore use them alone (currently) to score your diamond.
And before you ask… We absolutely DO take into account the scoring of more lenient labs, such as EGL International. For example, it’s entirely possible to achieve a DiamondScore of 10 with a GIA diamond. However, it is NOT possible to do so with an EGL International diamond, as their grading scale is lower than GIA’s.
